Time for some long overdue cleanup.

For a long time now, this DA page has been split between being my personal DA page and being the page for StarCaster, a game project for which I've been commissioning concept art from various artists. It's a project that has yet to really take off, as it's been a bit of a hobby and I've had quite a lot on my plate, especially for the last year. The inclusion of both the art for the project and my personal stuff in the same account has been a bit troublesome, as people seem to get the wrong impression about who did what artwork (their names are in the deviation title). As such, I'm cleaning some things up, splitting the personal and the project, at least as much as I can afford to.

That said, look forward to seeing a bit of artwork that I've been holding back on.

Especially since I have a lot of new images I should upload. Hm.

I've been gaining confidence as a writer for the last few quarters. Some folks might've read that chapter snippet I wrote a while back from StarCaster: Blackout, which I never really continued. I learned a lot from writing that, and I've , both aboulearned a lot since thent writing in general and about myself as a writer. I've discovered I'm hugely character-centric and dialogue-focused, which is, oddly, both what I was terrified I'd get completely wrong and also what I wanted in my wildest dreams to get right.

Since my confidence with this is getting so much stronger of late I'm going to tackle the first novel chronologically in the StarCaster saga, also the first novel of what I've dubbed "The Braden Chronicles," a series that details Alys Braden's rise to the status of the Galaxy's champion. Anybody who I've shared info about StarCaster with knows that I've got a big, long story about that cooked up already.

I'd like very much to know if anybody's interested in reading the chapters of the first book as I write and edit them. Stupid as it sounds I get a real charge out of getting peoples' feedback and suggestions, and it really propels me forward when I'm doing this stuff. So, everybody who wants to get a free sneak peek, give me a comment!

Alright folks, let's try and name as many as we can before I change the journal topic again.

For those who don't know, Dr. Smith was a character from "Lost in Space," famous for his flamboyant mode of speech, his catchphrase ("Oh the pain! THE PAIN OF IT ALL!"), and, of course, his many strings of alliterative insults, like "you galloping garbage bag of galliginous glop! You pusillanimous pigskin of puffery!" In the interest of pursuing a cheap laugh, why don't we see how many Dr. Smith-isms we can come up with? I'll begin with three off the top of my head:

You bourbon-soaked babbling buffoon!
You galloping garbage can of galliginous glop!
You pusillanimous pigskin of puffery!
